Our client, located in Tampa, is seeking a Client Collections Specialist to join their team. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an experienced collections professional with a strong background in B2B collections, preferably within a law firm, legal services, or professional services environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing client receivables, driving collection efforts, and partnering with internal stakeholders to improve cash flow while maintaining outstanding client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of business client accounts and oversee collection efforts on outstanding balances
  • Conduct collection outreach via phone, email, and written correspondence to secure timely payments
  • Review aging reports and prioritize accounts based on delinquency, risk, and payment history
  • Research and resolve billing disputes, payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and account concerns
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and monitor compliance with agreed-upon terms
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop collection strategies
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure account balances are accurate
  • Maintain detailed documentation of collection activities and account status updates
  • Support month-end collection initiatives and contribute to reducing aged receivables

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or experience working B2B collections within legal services
  • 2+ years of B2B collections experience
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts and collect on high-dollar outstanding balances
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable, collections processes, account reconciliation, and dispute resolution
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work professionally with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other business software applications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
